Sir Emeka Offor Recognized with Dr. Alex Ekwueme Award
ANAMBRA STATE, NIGERIA, October 22, 2012 - Sir Emeka Offor has been awarded the “Dr. Alex Ekwueme Award of Excellence - 2102,” for his outstanding contribution to Education in Nigeria and Africa through The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation, at the convocation ceremony of the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State.
The honor was conferred to Sir Emeka during the 3rd edition of the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Annual Lecture Series, which also formed part of the activities for the 80th birthday celebration of the former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The convocation lecture titled, “The Challenges of Technical and Vocational Education in the 21st Century,” was delivered by Senator Uche Chukwumerije.
Present at the ceremony were former Commonwealth Secretary General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Chief Dr. Alex Ekwueme, Dr. Chukwuma Soludo, HRM Olowo of Owo, Oba Olateri Olagbegi and HRH Igwe Laz Ekwueme, to mention but a few.
Sir Emeka Offor was represented at the ceremony by Inno Anoliefo.
