The scholarship program is part of the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation's multi-faceted approach to education. It provides comprehensive university scholarships to academically gifted but economically disadvantaged students. The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation Scholars include 10 post-graduate candidates, 40 undergraduates, 40 secondary school students and 33 primary school pupils. 37 percent of the awardees are female.

"We believe that education is the cornerstone of our future," said Mrs. C. N. Ufondu, Education Secretary for the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation. "We are proud to go beyond many scholarship programs by offering incentives for academic performance for recipients. When a Sir Emeka Offor Foundation Scholar graduates first in his or her class, the student will receive a car and will be offered full-time employment within the Chrome Group of Companies."

Scholarships from the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation cover tuition, books, accommodation and sundry expenses until graduation for candidates in primary, secondary and undergraduate tiers so long as they maintain a steady GPA of 3.0/4.0. Scholarships for post-graduate candidates cover tuition for the duration of the course (Master Program – two years; PhD Program – three years).

The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation also pursues an aggressive program to enable students to learn in a conducive environment by building model schools and classrooms, and to furnish them with access to the Internet and other modern equipment. The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation strives to become a model for development efforts across Nigeria in its effort to develop the talents of students to allow them to contribute to society.
