The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (SEOF), a non-governmental, philanthropic organization focused on youth employment, families, education, healthcare and infrastructure development, recently donated items worth millions of naira to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) by flood in their various camps in Anambra State. The items donated include bags of rice, beans and toiletries, among others.

Besides this, the SEOF equally followed with medical missions to the victims. The Director, Anambra State Emergency Agency (SEMA) Dr. Nwabufo Ijezie expressed the appreciation of the Anambra State Government through his Agency towards these gestures from SEOF.

The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation was founded by Sir Emeka Offor, Chairman of The Chrome Group, (www.thechromegroup.net), a leading West African oil and gas conglomerate.

The Coordinator of The SEOF, Hon Sir Anthony A. Obi while presenting these gifts at various camps assured the victims that the Foundation would not only assist them with these materials but will further avail routine medical missions to them even when they must have left the camps until they settle down in their various communities. He further informed them that the SEOF is discussing with the Nigeria Medical Association for a collaboration towards this mission. He averred that the SEOF intervention has no political motives rather to avail our available resources towards the oppressed for a better living.

Responding, the Secretary to The Anambra State Government (SSG) Mr. Oseloka Obazie thanked the Founder of SEOF, Sir Emeka C. Offor for his magnanimity towards people in need and wished that other philanthropists would emulate him in assisting government towards effective harmonious development of the State.

At the various destinations of handing over the relief items and rendering medical missions, the Committees in charge of the camps were excited with the SEOF gestures. The Rt. Rev. Dr. S.C Ezeofor, The Anglican Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese who is the Chairman for the camps in Ogbaru and Onitsha Local Government Areas expressed their deep appreciation to the SEOF and her Founder, Sir Emeka C. Offor whom he noted that he was not surprise at the gesture but pleaded for further assistance beyond the flooding period as it would take the victims years to recover from their losses especially in areas of agriculture and habitation.
