ABUJA, NIGERIA, September 30, 2013 - The Executive Vice Chairman of Chrome Group, Sir Emeka Offor, today formally accepted the share certificate and license as the  the core investor for the Enugu Distribution Company (DisCo) on behalf of Interstate Electrics Limited.

In addition to Chrome Group subsidiary Chrome Energy, the Interstate Electrics Limited consortium includes Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) of Thailand and Power House International Limited. Interstate Electrics was among nine companies participating in the formal handover ceremony of the Share Certificates and Licenses to the new owners of PHCN successor power distribution companies by President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Iin his address, the President expressed his pleasure at the historic event and wished that the takeover will transform the power sector for the good of all Nigerians.

Notable dignitaries from both the public and private sector who were present and spoke at the event included, the Vice President, Arc. Namadi Sambo, the Honourable Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu O. Nebo, the Minister of Finance, Dr. (Mrs) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala , the Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Allison Madueke, the World Bank Country Representative, Marie Francoise Marie-Nelly.

Interstate Electrics Managing Director and CEO, Robert Dickerman, and other top management staff were also present.

The ceremony was held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
