NIGERIA, November 1, 2012 - Sir Emeka Offor, the Chairman of Chrome Group (www.thechromegroup.net), a leading West African oil and gas conglomerate, and founder of the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation, is the proud recipient of two awards for his philanthropic activities. He was recognized with the "Philantropist of the Year 2012” award from the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Anambra State Council, and a humanity award from the Kpakpando Foundation for Physically Challenged Persons.

Sir Emeka Offor was onhand on October 19, 2012 at Awka, Anambra State, where he was presented with the “Philantropist of the Year 2012” award. The Special Award of Excellence, which was presented by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Anambra State Council, is in recognition of his numerous philanthropic activities in the State and beyond. The organization seeks to alleviate the suffering of the less privileged in the society.

The humanity award from The Kpakpando Foundation for Physically Challenged Persons (KFPCP), was presented to Sir Offor on October 30, 2012 by Senator Ken Nnamani, former Senate President. The award is in recognition of his selfless and examplary service to physically challenged persons and humanity.

The KFPCP is a philanthropic organization founded by Senator Osita Izunaso. The award was presented at the Sam Mbakwe Hall of the Imo Concorde Hotel Owerri, Imo State. Sir Emeka Offor, who was also the Special Guest of Honour at the occassion, supported the foundation with the sum of 1 million naira.

The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation is a non-governmental, philanthropic organization focused on youth employment, families, education, healthcare and infrastructure development.
