Appointment Readies Kaztec for Next Growth Phase in Offshore Oil and Gas Projects

(www.kaztec-eng.com), a leader in the fabrication of drilling and production platforms and other specialized structures for the oil and gas industry, today announced the appointment of Geoff Stone to the position of projects director. Kaztec is a subsidiary of the Chrome Group, a leading West African oil and gas conglomerate.

As projects director, Stone will lead a highly experienced team at Kaztec that will execute engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts for offshore oil and gas projects. Initially, he will be responsible for planning and delivery by Kaztec of installed facilities, including pipelines, risers, platforms and structures for Addax Petroleum in Nigerian waters.

Before joining Kaztec, Stone was responsible for the strategy and engineering direction of Penspen, an independent group of companies providing services to the oil and gas industry. He also served on the management team of Murphy Oil's Kikeh project in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As the fluid transfer lines manager on the project, Stone was responsible for delivering the world's first dynamic submerged oil transfer system, which was critical to the $1.4 billion development.

Stone has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Salford. He has worked in the offshore oil and gas industry since he graduated in 1977. He has presented numerous papers in key technology centers around the world.
